Fun fact about my current wedding ring. My original one broke a year after we got married. We kept putting it off to get it fixed and Jimmy said, “let’s go look for one to hold you over until we get it fixed” Yes, a fake one. Well that never happened either, and soon he was off to BMT and tech school. Shortly after he left I was browsing the mall when I came across this $11 ring that I thought was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and was everything I ever wanted in a wedding ring. Thin band, unique look, something that wouldn’t overwhelm or look gaudy on my tiny fingers. I bought it on the spot, I take care of it and clean it as though it’s my actual wedding ring, and I get compliments on it all the time. Just the other day Jimmy asked, “So when are we getting your ring fixed?” To which I replied, “I’m fine with this one for as long as it holds up.” Don’t get me wrong, my original ring was beautiful. But I bought this ring a year ago, and to this day it’s still holding up like a champ. Who says you need to have a $1500 ring?
